Benfenati has been operating in the exhibition setup sector since the 1950s. The first trade fairs and advertising work served as a launchpad for a business that, from its family-run and artisanal roots, gradually evolved into a medium-sized company, now a key player in the contemporary setup market. Leading this development were Roberto and Daniele Benfenati, sons of the founder.
Roberto Benfenati joined his father as a technical assistant while completing his studies in Architecture in the dynamic and enterprising Milan of the 1970s, building a network of experience and relationships that fueled the constant evolution of the company’s creativity and production capabilities. Alongside him, his brother Daniele specialized in logistics, in-house production, and warehouse management—essential components in a business that demands real-time responses and great flexibility, supported by a reliable and efficient organization.
The team was further strengthened by two key female figures: Maria Martinez and Elisabetta Giupponi, who took charge of administrative and HR management—areas increasingly vital within a company that places strong emphasis on training, development, and workplace safety.
By the 1980s, the fruits of this effort began to show, and the company entered a new, more international dimension, working with clients such as Disney Company.

Since 2020, the company has embarked on an important transition, evolving from a family-run business to a more structured managerial organization. This shift became necessary following the departure of Daniele and Elisabetta from the company.
Roberto and Maria, joined by Giorgio Benfenati and Nicholas Gnani, began a new strategic path aimed at strengthening and innovating the company’s foundations, guiding it toward a more structured, future-oriented management.
Over time, the company has gradually expanded its operational scope. Today, in addition to creating custom stands for major national and international trade shows, Benfenati also specializes in exhibitions, permanent installations for museums and foundations, fashion shows, and product launch events for prestigious fashion and luxury brands.
It also produces furniture and setups for showrooms, retail spaces, and executive offices.
The technical department is the operational heart of Allestimenti Benfenati—a company that has consistently updated its production technologies and equipment.
Thanks to Roberto Benfenati’s involvement as a lecturer at the Politecnico di Milano’s IDEA Master’s program in Exhibition Design, since 2015 the company has welcomed young, dynamic designers and architects with refined skills capable of responding to the ever-evolving market.

In line with this vision, in early 2020, the company’s headquarters underwent a full renovation to offer a workspace with large areas dedicated to creative collaboration with clients, project engineering, material selection, and mockup creation.
A continuous relationship with specialized agencies, design studios, and designers is a cornerstone of Allestimenti Benfenati’s approach.
